The ruling on one who makes a mistake in prayer and does not prostrate for forgetfulness

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
And the first message in this episode came from listener (A. M. M) from Riyadh, in which he says: If I forget during the prayer and do not perform the prostration for forgetfulness, and I conclude the prayer and forget the prostration for forgetfulness, what is obligatory for me to do?
Answer: In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful. Praise be to Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon the Messenger of Allah, and upon his family and his Companions, and upon those who follow his guidance.
As for what follows: The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) clarified the ruling regarding forgetfulness, and he (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned types of it in his words and deeds (peace and blessings be upon him). Among these is what Abu Sa'id al-Khudri (may Allah be pleased with him) narrated from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) that he said:
When any one of you is in doubt about his prayer and he does Dot know how much he has prayed, three or four (rak'ahs). he should cast aside his doubt and base his prayer on what he is sure of. then perform two prostrations before giving salutations. If he has prayed five rak'ahs, they will make his prayer an even number for him, and if he has prayed exactly four, they will be humiliation for the devil.
Sahih Muslim 571a
Muslim recorded it in his Sahih. If a person doubts whether he prayed two or three units, he should consider it two and build upon the lesser, which is certainty. If he doubts whether it was three or four, he should consider it three and then complete it. After this, he prostrates for forgetfulness, two prostrations, before he concludes the prayer. Likewise, if he forgets to say "Glory be to my Lord, the Supreme" in the bowing, or "Glory be to my Lord, the Most High" in the prostration, or "My Lord, forgive me" between the two prostrations, or if he forgets to say "Our Lord, to You belongs praise" when rising from the bowing, or if the imam or the one praying alone forgets to say "Allah hears the one who praises Him," it is prescribed for all of them, indeed it is obligatory upon them, to perform the prostration for forgetfulness, two prostrations before concluding the prayer. Likewise, if he concludes the prayer from three units in the Dhuhr, 'Asr, or 'Isha, or concludes from two units in the Maghrib, for example, or concludes from one unit in the Fajr or Jumu'ah while forgetting, he prostrates for forgetfulness. But in this case, if he concludes due to a missing unit or more, his prostration after the salam is better; due to the action of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). He once concluded from two units, was reminded, completed his prayer, then concluded, then prostrated for forgetfulness, two prostrations. And once he concluded from three units (peace and blessings be upon him), was reminded, completed his prayer, then concluded, then prostrated two prostrations for forgetfulness, then concluded.
This is what is prescribed for the believing man and woman regarding forgetfulness. If he forgets the prostration, his prayer is valid. If he forgets the prostration for forgetfulness, his prayer is valid. But whenever he remembers, he prostrates the two prostrations of forgetfulness, whether in the mosque or in his house. Some scholars said: If the interval is long, it is dropped. But the most cautious and preferable is that whenever he remembers, even if the interval is long, he prostrates two prostrations with the intention of forgetfulness, whether in the mosque or in his house. Yes.
The presenter: May Allah reward you with good.
