What is the ruling on adding the phrase: “Our Master Muhammad” in the Ibrahimi prayer?
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The Shaykh : How can these minds, which number in the millions and cannot be counted, how can one mind match another, one thought match another, one opinion match another, and so on? What is the way out of this disagreement? Mishkat al-Masabih 165Sahīh (Zubair `Aliza'i) The saved sect, Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2641Da'if (Darussalam). We return now to the Companions of the Messenger (peace be upon him) first, and then to what the Muslims followed second, regarding the adhan. Did they say: Sahih al-Bukhari 612 or did they say ? To this day, we have said, and praise be to Allah, that this adhan has not been altered. As for the prayer upon the Messenger, you know that you hear it, unless some of you do not do so; they say in the tashahhud . Where did this come from? From relying on opinion and desire. Desire is of two kinds: one is following lust in disobedience to Allah (Mighty and Majestic), but there is another desire, and this is very subtle: following desire in what one thinks is obedience to Allah (Mighty and Majestic), in what one thinks or is thought to be obedience to Allah (Mighty and Majestic). But how does the Muslim know that this is obedience or not, if he does not derive it from the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him), who said: ? If the etiquette with the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family), when he is mentioned in prayer and in the teaching which is the knowledge he taught us, is to say something other than his teaching, is this not etiquette? If this is true etiquette, it is a nearness and obedience to Allah without doubt. Why did the Messenger of Allah not teach us? Did he conceal something that Allah ordered him to teach and convey? Far be it from Allah. But as I said earlier, some people are encouraged to deviate from the Prophetic teaching in the Ibrahimi prayers. In the prayer, as you know, I am telling you now that there is a Moroccan who wrote a book, and the book is printed, and this book is called upon and broadcast among people, and its name is mentioned, and people are encouraged to acquire it. What is the name of this book? Its name suffices you for its content: “Delighting the Ears in the Recommendation of Adding the Prayer upon the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) in the Adhan.” Or did I put “ears” instead of “adhan”? That ruined the rhyme. “Delighting the Adhan in the Recommendation of the Lordship of the Messenger in the Adhan.” By a Moroccan. So it is recommended that the Muslim say in the adhan: . Where did this come from? To this day, it has not been heard from anyone at all, not an opinion from a scholar, for example, nor a practice from a mu’adhdhin to add this addition to the adhan? Where did this come from? From etiquette being better than compliance? I seek refuge in Allah from being among the ignorant. [Sad 38:84] Compliance, my brothers, is the very essence of etiquette, and neglecting compliance is bad etiquette. Do not be deceived. So I say now, someone might say, “And since we hear such talk, what is the harm, my brother? What is the harm if we say, ‘O Allah, send blessings upon our Master Muhammad and upon the family of our Master Muhammad, as You sent blessings upon our Master,’ and so on?” The one who says “what is the harm” certainly did not revere the Messenger, nor honor him, nor exalt him, and did not know the status of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him and his family). Because if he knew his status (peace be upon him), he would keep in mind that he did not conceal anything he was ordered to convey. So when he was asked about applying the previous verse: [Al-Ahzab 33:56], this is a verse in the Qur’an, and he is ordered, as we mention to you on many occasions, to clarify the Qur’an by virtue of His saying (Glorified and Exalted is He) in the Qur’an: [An-Nahl 16:44]. So he fulfilled the obligation of clarifying the Qur’an, including: [Al-Ahzab 33:56], “How do we pray upon you, O Messenger of Allah?” He said: Sunan an-Nasa'i 1292Hasan (Darussalam). If the one who says “what is the harm” could appreciate the Messenger (peace be upon him), would he not keep in mind that when the Messenger said: Sunan an-Nasa'i 1292Hasan (Darussalam), he ordered us with what is better for us and what is the greatest reward we obtain from our Lord (Mighty and Majestic)? If he believes this, then it does not align with his saying “what is the harm?” The harm is that the Messenger did not convey the message and did not fulfill the trust, because you are bringing an addition by which you seek nearness to Allah, which your Messenger did not bring to you. So what is the harm? Do you know what the harm is? The harm is attributing to the Messenger (peace be upon him) the concealment of conveying Islam. [Al-Ma'idah 5:67] In the two Sahihs, from the hadith of Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her), in the story I do not wish to lengthen the speech now by mentioning it in its entirety, but the point from it is a trait. She said: . Then the previous verse followed: [Al-Ma'idah 5:67]. This is the hadith of al-Bukhari and Muslim in a narration specific to Muslim. The Lady Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) said: “If the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him and his family) had concealed anything he was ordered to convey, he would have concealed His saying (Glorified and Exalted is He): [Al-Ahzab 33:37] .” The Lady Aisha says that if the Messenger wanted to conceal something, he would have concealed a verse like this one, which contains rebuke from Allah (Mighty and Majestic) to him, saying: [Al-Ahzab 33:37]. If Allah revealed to him to inform his ummah to say in the prayer upon him in the prayer Sunan an-Nasa'i 1292Hasan (Darussalam), and in it is certainly the exaltation of the Messenger of Allah, would he conceal that? No. This is first. Second, these people who say “what is the harm?” think that the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) is like any human being, for example, one of the scholars or shaykhs who does not want to say about himself, “I am a scholar,” out of humility. This is possible. But the Prophet of Allah Yusuf (peace and blessings be upon him) said: [Yusuf 12:55]. He is praising his own state. We say, I seek refuge in Allah, no, because when he praised himself, he intended behind that to take charge of the state’s financial or economic affairs, as they say today. And it is not possible to reach that then or today unless a person says what he believes about himself. And from this door, today people present certificates to reach important positions... and so on. Likewise, and exactly of this kind, is the saying of the Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him) in the authentic hadith: Jami` at-Tirmidhi 2434Sahih (Darussalam). This is a praise, and rightfully so, not a claim. He is the master of people on the Day of Resurrection. And he said to them: . Then he (peace and blessings be upon him) mentioned the long hadith of intercession, in which it says: and so on. So the sun approaches the heads, and a group of people gather and consult among themselves, saying, “We will go to Adam (peace be upon him) and ask him for intercession.” The hadith of intercession is known for its length, and praise be to Allah, and it is in the two Sahihs. Each of the prophets, as you know, says until they come to our Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) and say to him . He says: . This is also a praise. So he (peace be upon him) is truly the master of mankind. And he said, as in this hadith, and he said in another hadith: . If the matter is so—and it is so without doubt or doubt, and it is not permissible for a Muslim to deny that the Messenger (peace be upon him) is the best of the messengers and prophets and that he is their master—and if he denies that while knowing these texts, he has exited Islam, just as a hair comes out of dough.
The student : Praise be to Allah.
The Shaykh : May Allah have mercy on you. If the matter is such that the Prophet (peace be upon him) is the master of people, why did he not tell us to say, “O Allah, send blessings upon our Master Muhammad”? The answer is: he was ordered to say it this way, so it is not in his hand. This formula that the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) taught us is not from him.[An-Najm 53:1-4] The Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) was ordered this way. Is it time?
The student : Yes, exactly.
The Shaykh : We hear the adhan, or do we not hear it here?
The student : It is time in my mosque, my Shaykh, but not yet in your mosque here.
The Shaykh : Ah, okay.
The student : I mean, you can break your fast before us. Peace be upon you.
The Shaykh : Okay, hehehe, and peace be upon you. If the Messenger (peace be upon him) is a servant ordered to convey the Shari’ah of Allah to the Muslims in general and all the rulings of Allah, and this is one of the rulings of Allah that He ordered the worshippers to say:Sunan an-Nasa'i 1292Hasan (Darussalam), this is not according to his preference. The teaching came to him this way from the Lord of the Worlds. So as he was ordered, he conveyed it, without addition or subtraction.
The Shaykh : Therefore, I will now summarize, repeating: remember this well so that you are not shocked one day by an innovator who says to you, “What is the harm?” Is the Messenger not the master of people and the master of mankind? Yes. Why is it not permissible to say, “O Allah, send blessings upon our Master Muhammad and upon the family of our Master Muhammad,” and so on? We say: because compliance is better than etiquette. Compliance is better than etiquette. And this is the last word on the issue. Let’s see what is there? It will be a hanging matter.

وأشهد أن سيدناO Allah, send blessings upon our master Muhammad.
اللهم صلِّ على سيدنا محمدI have not left anything that brings you closer to Allah without commanding you to do it, and I have not left anything that distances you from Allah and brings you closer to the Fire without forbidding it.

يَا أَيُّهَا الرَّسُولُ بَلِّغْ مَا أُنْزِلَ إِلَيْكَ مِنْ رَبِّكَAnd [remember, O Muhammad], when you said to the one on whom Allah bestowed favor and you bestowed favor, "Keep your wife and fear Allah," while you concealed within yourself that which Allah is to disclose. And you feared the people, while Allah has more right that you fear Him.
And you feared the people, while Allah has more right that you fear Him

أنا سيد الناس يوم القيامةDo you know why? Allah, Mighty and Majestic, will gather all the people on the Day of Resurrection on a single plain.
أتدرون ممَّ ذلك ؟ يجمع الله - عز وجل - يوم القيامة الناس جميعًا في صعيد واحدThe sun will draw near to the heads of the people, the heat will become intense, and the sweat of the people will increase; some of them will have sweat reaching their ankles, some to their knees, some to their waists, some to their mouths, and some will be nearly choked by the sweat.
