How to enter the state of ihram for one who is on an airplane or a ship

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
How does one enter the state of ihram on an airplane?

Answer:
On an airplane, one enters the state of ihram in the air, yes. And likewise on the sea, when one is level with the miqat, one enters the state of ihram from the sea on the ship or vessel. And if one is in the air, one should aim for the miqat and enter the state of ihram before reaching it, or one may enter the state of ihram at the airport in one's own country if one fears that the matter will become confused; there is no harm in advancing the entry into ihram out of necessity.
But usually, it is easy for one to prepare in one's own country: one takes a ghusl if it is possible, applies perfume, wears the izar and the rida, and is prepared on the airplane. Then, when one is about half an hour from Jeddah, one enters the state of ihram, because at that point one is level with the miqat if coming by airplane.
As for one coming by way of Madinah, it is known that the people of Madinah enter the state of ihram. And if one is coming by sea via the coast, when one is level with Rabigh, or via Egypt or the Levant, one enters the state of ihram while in the air, or a little before that, to be cautious. One enters the state of ihram before that, because when one stands up from the airport and walks a little, the airplane moves a little, so one enters the state of ihram as a precaution, and there is no harm in that. However, delaying the entry into ihram until reaching Jeddah is not permissible.
