The ruling on one who commits unlawful sexual intercourse with a woman and then marries her

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
What is the ruling on a man who committed unlawful sexual intercourse with a woman, then married her, and they had children? They all—him, his wife, and their children—have completed the obligatory Hajj. Has the crime of unlawful sexual intercourse been lifted from them by performing the obligatory Hajj? And what is the status of the children? Are the children considered children of unlawful sexual intercourse? It is known that the conception occurred after the completion of the marriage, meaning there was no pregnancy before the marriage.

Answer:
Whoever repents, Allah accepts his repentance, even if it is before the Hajj. If they both repent, Allah will accept their repentance, even if it is before the Hajj. It is not a condition of the Hajj. Repentance is sufficient. If he repents and feels remorse for what he did, Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He) accepts the repentance of whoever repents. Repentance wipes out what came before it, and Islam wipes out what came before it. The Hajj is an addition of good. We ask Allah to guide them.

Question : Is the marriage to a woman who has committed unlawful sexual intercourse valid?

Answer: The marriage to her is valid if she repents. She must be admonished and reminded. If she repents and displays her repentance, then there is nothing wrong with it...
