The Ruling on Living with People Who Do Not Preserve the Prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Indeed, there are many doors and places for hijrah (migration), including migration from a state, from people, and others. So the question is: I am a person living in an environment where all forms of evil are present, and in this environment there are people who do not know the prayer—may Allah protect us from that. What is obligatory for me? Do I leave this house, or what should I do?

Answer:
Yes... Do not live among a wicked family that is hostile to Islam, does not know the prayer, and approves of evil. Do not live among them; flee from them. However, this does not prevent you from da'wah (calling others to Islam). Call to Allah, advise them, and guide them while you are far from residing with them, so that they do not harm you and so that they do not draw you to them. They are more harmful than leprosy; they are more harmful than leprosy. So beware of them, but this does not prevent you from giving advice, guidance, and instruction, whether in writing or verbally, when you are able to advise them.
