The Ruling on the Friday Prayer for Six People

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
A group of brothers sent a question saying: We are a group of people, and our number does not exceed six. It is difficult for us to attend the Friday prayer because the nearest mosque is fifty-five kilometers away from us, so we are forced to pray the Friday prayer as the midday prayer. Is there any blame on us for that? We ask for your guidance. May Allah reward you with good.

Answer:
There is no blame on you for that, and praise be to Allah. However, if you had prayed the Friday prayer, it would have been valid according to the most correct of the scholars’ opinions. This is because the Friday prayer is valid with three people or more, provided you are settled residents, living in a village in both winter and summer. In that case, you are among those for whom the Friday prayer is obligatory, according to the correct opinion. Even if you were three instead of six, the correct opinion is that the Friday prayer is established by you and is valid for you. You should establish it in your location if you are settled residents in that place, with a complete residence in buildings and houses, and then pray the Friday prayer. This is the stronger and better position for you. As for the past, your prayers were valid, and praise be to Allah.

The presenter : May Allah reward you with good.
