Q 2: Who are the people whom a person is obligated to
maintain ties with in terms of kinship? Is their number limited to the father, mother, brothers, sisters, and children, or does it exceed this number mentioned?
A 2: Maintaining kinship ties applies to those mentioned in the question and to other relatives; such as grandfathers and grandmothers, the children of brothers and sisters, uncles and aunts and their children, maternal uncles and aunts and their children, and all other relatives. However, they differ in the degree of connection, so the closest of them to you is the most deserving of your kindness and good deeds; due to the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) when some people asked him, saying: O Messenger of Allah,Al-Adab Al-Mufrad 5 . And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
