The location of the heart in the human body

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
We ask you to clarify the heart that the honorable Shaykh referred to, and its location. Is it the specific heart that pumps the blood, or is it something else? May Allah preserve you.

Answer:
First, we thank him for his good feelings, and we ask Allah to preserve us and all our brothers from all evil, and to grant us and all our brothers safety from every trial and from every... And we say to our brother: May Allah love you for the sake of which you loved us, and we ask Him to make us all among those who love one another for the sake of Allah, who are mentioned in the authentic hadith. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Allah the Exalted says:يقول الله 
On the Day of Resurrection: Where are those who love one another for My majesty? Today I will shade them in My shade on a day when there is no shade except My shade.
And he said -may peace and blessings be upon him-:
Seven people will be shaded by Allah under His shade on the day when there will be no shade except His. They are: (1) a just ruler; (2) a young man who has been brought up in the worship of Allah, (i.e. worship Allah (Alone) sincerely from his childhood), (3) a man whose heart is attached to the mosque (who offers the five compulsory congregational prayers in the mosque); (4) two persons who love each other only for Allah's sake and they meet and part in Allah's cause only; (5) a man who refuses the call of a charming woman of noble birth for an illegal sexual intercourse with her and says: I am afraid of Allah; (6) a person who practices charity so secretly that his left hand does not know what his right hand has given (i.e. nobody knows how much he has given in charity). (7) a person who remembers Allah in seclusion and his eyes get flooded with tears.
Sahih al-Bukhari 1423
We ask Allah -Exalted and Majestic is He- to make us, and you, among these seven...
As for the heart, it is known to be in the chest, on the left side. It is the meaning of the known heart, the lump of flesh, as it was described as a lump, a piece of flesh like a chewed thing. It has a great status in the human being; upon it depends his rectitude and his corruption. Allah -Exalted and Majestic is He- placed it at the center of the human being, and at the pivot of his life, health, and safety. When the heart is rectified in terms of religion, the human being is rectified in terms of religion. And when it is corrupted in terms of nature, the human being is also corrupted, and it may end in death due to the heart attacks that stop the movements, leading him to death.
So the heart has a great status in terms of the human being's physical life and his true spiritual life. When it is rectified in terms of religion, that is the happy life, and it is the complete spiritual life. And when it is sound in terms of the body, and in terms of being free from ailments, the body is also sound; because it is a follower of it.

The Intended Meaning: That the heart is the known one that we all know, the believer should strive much, and exert himself much in its rectitude through obedience to Allah, fear of Allah, sincerity to Allah, monitoring of Allah, magnifying the sanctities of Allah, and staying away from the prohibitions of Allah .
