The Ruling on the Use of Stimulant Pills

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Among the types of narcotics, there is another type that some people use out of ignorance, while others use it to strengthen themselves to continue their work. This is part of the deception of Satan, may Allah curse him, namely stimulant pills. It is known that what follows their consumption, meaning after their effect ends, turns into the opposite. The problem is that most of those who use them assume that it is not forbidden. We ask for your opinion, Your Eminence?

Answer:
These must be prohibited; because they make a person almost asleep, while he is not asleep. They make him almost awake, while he is not awake. He is in the ruling of a sleeping person. How many accidents have occurred because of that! The pills that drive away sleep make their user appear to be awake, while he is in the ruling of a sleeping person. He may run over some people, or he may crash into some people, because of the absence of his mind and control. These pills should be prohibited. It is obligatory to prohibit them, not to approve them, and not to consume them.
