Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you

إِنَّ أَكْرَمَكُمْ عِنْدَ اللَّهِ أَتْقَاكُمْ

[Al-Hujurat:13] In religion, a Muslim does not marry a disbeliever; because Allah says:

And do not marry polytheistic women until they believe

وَلَا تَنْكِحُوا الْمُشْرِكَاتِ حَتَّى يُؤْمِنَّ

[Al-Baqarah:221],

And do not marry polytheistic men [to your women] until they believe

وَلَا تُنْكِحُوا الْمُشْرِكِينَ حَتَّى يُؤْمِنُوا

[Al-Baqarah:221],

they are not lawful [wives] for them, nor are they lawful [husbands] for them

لَا هُنَّ حِلٌّ لَهُمْ وَلَا هُمْ يَحِلُّونَ لَهُنَّ
