Delaying Marriage for the Sake of Seeking Knowledge

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
Is it permissible to postpone marriage in order to seek knowledge?

Answer:
No, he should get married and seek knowledge. Marriage does not prevent seeking knowledge. However, the one who has been given wealth must spend some of it, as Allah the Exalted said:
that you seek them [in marriage] with [gifts from] your propertyأَنْ تَبْتَغُوا بِأَمْوَالِكُمْ
[Surat al-Nisa: 24]. Even if it is a small amount, he should spend it on the wife as part of the mahr (bridal gift). That is, even if it is a small amount, he gives it to her, or they give it to him, and he is the one who spends it. They give him what is easy for him so that he can spend it on her.
