Question:
Does a young man have to obey his parents if they order him to postpone marriage until he is twenty-five years old, or twenty, or until he obtains a degree, while he desires to marry before that? What is the ruling for one who has no desire to marry?
Answer:
First: His parents have no right to say this to him; his parents have no right to order him to postpone it, and it is not permissible for them to order him to postpone it while they are able to marry him off.
Second: He is not to obey them in delaying marriage, as he desires to marry and is able to do so; for the Messenger of Allah (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Sunan Abi Dawud 2625Sahih (Al-Albani) and he said: Mishkat al-Masabih 3696.
So if his parents order him to commit zina, or to drink intoxicants; it is not permissible, and likewise if they order him to postpone marriage while he is able to marry, or while they are able to marry him off; they are obligated to marry him off, and it is not permissible for them to postpone marriage until he completes his university studies, or until such and such, as long as he desires marriage and wants women, for the danger is present, the danger is present, and the obligation is to protect him from the danger by marrying him off. These are the reasons, and success is from Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) But these are the reasons; so it is not permissible for them to postpone marriage, and it is not permissible for him to obey them in this matter if he is able to get rid of this situation.

Obedience is in matters which are good and universally recognized.
إنما الطاعة في المعروفA creature is not to be obeyed when it involves disobedience to the "Creator.”
لا طاعة لمخلوق في معصية الخالقSo if his parents order him to commit zina, or to drink intoxicants; it is not permissible, and likewise if they order him to postpone marriage while he is able to marry, or while they are able to marry him off; they are obligated to marry him off, and it is not permissible for them to postpone marriage until he completes his university studies, or until such and such, as long as he desires marriage and wants women, for the danger is present, the danger is present, and the obligation is to protect him from the danger by marrying him off.
