Question:
Is it not among the etiquettes of a student of knowledge to refrain from delving into what does not concern him, especially entering into the major issues that concern the Ummah?

Answer:
Answer: Among the etiquettes of a student of knowledge, as we have mentioned, is that he does not begin with the branches of knowledge and scholarly disagreement, but rather he begins with the principles and the chapters, step by step. This is among the etiquettes of a student of knowledge. And if you look into scholarly disagreement, such as you are in a stage like yours, where you are currently studying disputed issues for the sake of completing your information and for the sake of knowing the stronger position from the weaker position, and what has evidence for it and what does not have evidence for it, then this is beneficial after you reach this stage, the stage of specialization. You look into the disagreement, but you do not take every opinion; rather, you present it to the evidence. So, what agrees with the evidence, you take it, and what contradicts the evidence, you leave it. But do not belittle the scholars if they make a mistake. Do not belittle them. Recognize their status and supplicate to Allah for them. But do not follow what is other than the evidence if they made a mistake unintentionally. If one makes a mistake unintentionally and he is from the people of independent legal reasoning, he has a reward for his independent legal reasoning, and his mistake is forgiven. His mistake is forgiven, so do not let it carry you to belittle the one who holds it or to speak ill of him when you see a weaker position or a position that contradicts the evidence. Yes.
