Adornment in Prayer.

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
A mosque imam owns a great deal of wealth, but when he comes to prayer, he comes wearing a dirty wrap and a dirty shirt. When I say to him, "Why don't you buy new clothes for prayer?" he says, "Whoever adorns himself for Allah, He will elevate him." What is the ruling on his prayer?

Answer:
Answer: This is not adorning oneself. Allah, Mighty and Majestic, says: "O children of Adam, take your adornment at every place of prostration," meaning: at every prayer. And adornment is not merely covering the private parts; rather, adornment includes wearing clothes that beautify you for prayer, as you face the Lord of the Worlds and stand before Him. So adorn yourself with whatever adornment you are able to, out of respect for the prayer and reverence for the standing before your Lord. This is something required. The hadith says: "When Allah gives you abundance, be generous," and it says: "Indeed, Allah loves that the trace of His blessing be seen upon His servant." My brother, this is not adorning oneself. Yes, do not wear luxurious clothes, for that would be showing off. Wear moderate, clean, beautiful clothes: "Indeed, Allah is beautiful and loves beauty."
