Circumambulating graves

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
The honorable Shaykh, may Allah guide you. It has become apparent that people in this time, who are pointed out with the finger, say that they do not declare those who associate partners with Allah to be disbelievers. He says: “I am unable to declare a disbeliever the one who says *La ilaha illa Allah* if he circumambulates a grave.”

Answer:
Answer: O Glory be to Allah!! He says *La ilaha illa Allah* and circumambulates a grave. What is *La ilaha illa Allah*? What does *La ilaha illa Allah* mean? *La ilaha illa Allah* is not merely a statement with the tongue. It is a statement with the tongue, a belief in the heart, and an action. One must abandon shirk (associating partners with Allah) in all its types, otherwise he is a mushrik (one who associates partners with Allah), even if he says *La ilaha illa Allah*, because he has not been truthful in it. *La ilaha illa Allah* is not just a word spoken with the tongue only. Yes.
