What is the difference between 'aqidah and faith?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
What is the difference between 'aqidah and faith?

Answer:
Answer: 'Aqidah is faith, which is what the heart believes and affirms. Thus, 'aqidah and faith are one and the same thing, and they are among the actions of the hearts. They are the foundation and basis of this religion; there is no religion without a sound 'aqidah, and none without a correct belief in accordance with the Book and the Sunnah, the 'aqidah of the people of the Sunnah and the community. This is faith in Allah, His angels, His books, His messengers, the Last Day, and faith in divine decree, its good and its evil. It is also faith in Allah (Glorified and Exalted is He) and in His names and attributes. We affirm what Allah has affirmed for Himself or what His Messenger has affirmed for Him regarding names and attributes, without likening Allah to creation, without comparing Allah to creation, without distortion of a text's meaning, and without denial of the divine attributes.
