Question:
The youth are the pure heart and the intelligent mind. Our youth, in this circumstance and at this time, are targeted. They are targeted in their minds, targeted in their homelands, and targeted in their creed as well. There are destructive ideas, and there is confusion from deviant schools of thought that may affect them. How do we warn the youth against those malicious individuals who want to tarnish these young people and tarnish Islam?
Answer:
Answer: Our youth and the youth of the Muslims are the mainstay, after Allah (Exalted and Majestic is He), of our strength, security, and stability; they are the mainstay in that. Therefore, from this perspective, it is obligatory to care for them by correcting their educational curricula according to a sound methodology, which is the reality and the tangible reality—praise be to Allah—in our study curricula that our youth study. This is from one aspect. From another aspect, these malicious networks and these broadcasts that are aired, which contain calls to deviation, licentiousness, and tearing of clothes, are a danger that threatens us and threatens our youth. It is obligatory to do what we can to repel it and to refute its doubts and its baseless claims, because they are falsehoods. And when the truth comes to them, they will vanish, as He (Exalted and Majestic is He) said: "But We will hurl the truth at falsehood and it will crush it, and then it will be destroyed," and He (Glorified and Exalted is He) said: "And say, 'The truth has come and falsehood has vanished. Indeed, falsehood is bound to vanish.'" As long as we hold fast to this great Book, this blessed Sunnah, and this methodology of our Salaf and our imams, we are, if Allah wills, in goodness and heading toward goodness. However, we must strive to correct our youth, protect them, and supervise them in their travels, their trips, and their rest periods. We must not leave them and be negligent of them; rather, we must raise them on goodness and on the correct creed, in schools, in homes, in offices, in any field. We do not forget this good conduct, because if we rely on others and leave our youth, and grant them trust without doing works that surround them and prevent them, or prevent what reaches them, then our youth will deviate, just as others among the youth of the Ummah have deviated. It is not sufficient that they are in our homes, because these advertisements and these calls reach them in their homes while they are on their beds. It is obligatory for us to care for that and not leave our youth with these low networks and these things. Rather, we must check on them, strive for their well-being, call them, and convince them that what they are facing is against them, not what benefits them; rather, it is against them and against what they are upon, in order to strip them of this blessing.
