Explanation of the conditions related to wiping over socks

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q41: The questioner says: In the winter days, we wear socks, and their rulings are hidden from many people? So what are the rulings related to that?
A41: The rulings: First, that the sock covers what is beneath it and fits tightly on the foot; this is necessary. It must be pure, and it must be put on while in a state of ritual purity. This is one of the conditions: that it is put on after completing ritual purity, and then one wipes over it. The resident wipes for one day and one night, and the traveler for three days and their nights.
