The things that invalidate the fast of the one who is fasting

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The third question of the fatwa number ( 18424 )
Q3: What are the things that invalidate the fast of the one who is fasting?
A3: There are many things that invalidate fasting, among them: 1 - Intercourse. If a resident, healthy person has intercourse during the day in Ramadan, his fast is invalid, and he must make up that day on which he had intercourse. He must also perform the expiation in addition to making up the fast, which is: freeing a believing slave. If he does not find one, he must fast for two consecutive months. If he is unable to do so, he must feed sixty poor people, giving each poor person half a sa' (a dry measure of about 3 kg) of the staple food of the land, which is approximately one and a half kilograms by weight. The woman is like the man if she is a resident, healthy person who is not coerced. 2 - The emission of semen through kissing, touching, masturbation, or repeated looking. If any of this occurs, it invalidates the fast, and only making up the fast is obligatory, without the expiation. 3 - Eating or drinking intentionally. As for the one who forgets, it does not affect his fast. Included in the meaning of eating and drinking is everything that enters the stomach from food or water, including what is known as sa'ut, which is introducing water to the stomach through the nose. Also included is taking medical nutrition
So all of this invalidates the fast and makes up the fast obligatory. 4 - The intentional drawing out of blood, whether by cupping, bloodletting, or drawing a large amount of blood. All of this invalidates the fast and makes up the fast obligatory. 5 - Intentional vomiting, which is expelling what is in the stomach of food or drink through the mouth. This invalidates the fast and makes up the fast obligatory. However, if the vomit overcomes him and he is compelled without his choice, it does not invalidate the fast. These are the invalidators of fasting in brief. The scholars, may Allah have mercy on them, have elaborated on these rulings in a way that cannot be mentioned here. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
