Nasal drops during the daytime of Ramadan

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 20102 )
Q: A woman used nasal drops during the daytime of Ramadan out of necessity
and because she was unable to breathe through her nose without using them. She continued using them for an unspecified number of days, and it recurred over several Ramadans, reaching three or four Ramadans, though she does not remember exactly. The woman knew that using the drops in the nose during the daytime of Ramadan breaks the fast if they reach the throat, and she had felt the bitter taste in her throat several times. Is the fasting she has already performed considered invalid? What is required of her in terms of making up fasts or feeding people?

A: If a fasting person is compelled to use nasal drops, there is no blame on him for doing so, and his fast is valid, unless he finds the taste of the drops in his throat, in which case his fast is invalid and he must make up that day if it was obligatory. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
