Forming the intention at night for fasting in Ramadan

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of fatwa number ( 16112 )
Q1: At the beginning of Ramadan last year, we waited to find out anything about the start of the month but were unable to, so we went to sleep without the intention to fast. We learned in the morning that the month of Ramadan had begun, so we fasted that day (the first of Ramadan). What is the ruling on our fasting , and do we have to make it up or not?
A1: If the matter is as you described in your question, then it is obligatory for you to make up that day; because you did not form the intention at night. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
