A question regarding compelling fathers to make their children perform the prayer

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q347: The questioner says: If there are children in the house who do not pray, what is the position of the father and mother, given that they fear that if they kick them out of the house, they will go astray? Also, we hope you will speak to us about the importance of prayer in Islam?
A347: Prayer is the second pillar of Islam after the two testimonies of faith. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) commanded fathers to order their children to pray at an early age so that they may practice it and become accustomed to it. He (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
Command your children to pray when they become seven years old, and beat them for it (prayer) when they become ten years old; and arrange their beds (to sleep) separately.مروا أبناءكم بالصلاة وهم أبناء سبع سنين، واضربوهم عليها وهم أبناء عشر، وفرقوا بينهم في المضاجع
Sunan Abi Dawud 495Hasan Sahih (Al-Albani)
Therefore, the parents must implement this hadith. For the one who has not reached puberty, they should start him with prayer and emphasize it to him. As for the one who has reached ten years of age and neglects the prayer, the father may strike him; it is obligatory for the father to strike him, based on the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him):
And beat them for it at tenواضربوهم عليها لعشر
This is a command from the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him). They should not leave them alone and be content with merely ordering them, but rather they should strike them if they neglect it.
