Installment payment of the cost of Hajj from the salary
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 15450 )
Q: Is it permissible to pay the cost of Hajj in installments from the salary so that this person can perform Hajj, meaning that he will pay a quarter of the amount and the rest will be paid in installments over the months from this man's salary? Please inform us, and may Allah reward you with good.
A : Hajj is not obligatory except upon the one who is able to afford it, and that is the one who finds the provisions and the mount, meaning that he finds the cost of his going and returning. However, if one borrows against his salary to secure the expenses of his travel, his Hajj is permissible and the obligation is lifted from him, but that is not obligatory upon him; because he is not able to afford it except through the aforementioned debt. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
