The i'tikaf-taker leaving for his need

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 20048 )
Q: If the person in i'tikaf leaves his place of i'tikaf for some reason, such as waking up his family for the suhur meal because no one is present in the house, is this considered a violation of the conditions of i'tikaf?
A: One who enters into i'tikaf must not leave his place of i'tikaf during his i'tikaf except for what is absolutely necessary; to fulfill his essential needs, such as obtaining food and drink if no one is available to bring them to him, and relieving himself if there are no restrooms in the mosque. There is no harm in his leaving at the time of suhur to wake his family to prepare the suhur meal and to get ready for the Fajr prayer if they are unable to wake up on their own and no one is available to wake them; because this is part of advising one another to do good and enjoining what is right, and whatever is necessary for the completion of an obligatory act is itself obligatory. However, he must not sit in the house after waking his family, but should return to his place of i'tikaf in the mosque. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
