Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q25: The questioner from Dammam asks: What is the virtue of wudu? And is it necessary for a person to be in a state of wudu throughout the day?
A25: Wudu has a great virtue, and the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
On the Day of Resurrection, my followers will be called "Al-Ghurr-ul- Muhajjalun" from the trace of ablution and whoever can increase the area of his radiance should do so (i.e. by performing ablution regularly).إن أمتي يُدعون يوم القيامة غرًا محجلين من آثار الوضوء، فمن استطاع منكم أن يطيل غرته فليفعل
Sahih al-Bukhari 136
So wudu is a great act of worship, in which there is a great reward, and through it the expiation of the sins committed by one’s limbs is achieved, as mentioned in the hadith. So it has a great virtue, and the more a person remains in a state of wudu, the better it is.
