Does the mother perform the 'Aqiqah for her child?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q2: And in the case where the mother takes on the 'Aqiqah of her own free will and choice, and invites some of her female relatives to it on the seventh day of the newborn's life,
is this considered a valid 'Aqiqah? It is known that she slaughters two sheep for the male child, meeting the required specifications.

A2:The one who bears the cost of the 'aqiqah is the father, as he is responsible for the child's maintenance. If the mother performs the slaughter in this case, it is sufficient due to the generality of the hadithSamurah(may Allah be pleased with him) mentioned earlier: "It is slaughtered on his behalf," as it did not specify who should slaughter the 'aqiqah.
