Settling for one sheep for a child due to financial constraints

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 18920 )
Q: Allah has blessed me with three children, and praise be to Allah. I did not slaughter an 'aqiqah for each of them except one sheep, due to the scarcity of livelihood at that time. Should I slaughter a second 'aqiqah, or is that sufficient? Please inform us, may Allah reward you.
A: The Sunnah is to slaughter two sheep for one male child. Since you have only slaughtered one sheep for each of them, the Sunnah for you is to complete the Sunnah by slaughtering another sheep for each of them, if you are able to do so. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
