The 'Aqiqah for a Miscarriage
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The fourth question of Fatwa No. ( 16525 )
Q4: Is the 'aqiqah performed for a child who is born after the fourth month and then dies? We hope for a sufficient and comprehensive clarification on this issue. If a person cannot afford to buy these sacrificial animals except by going into debt and paying from next month's salary, and may not be able to pay until after a period of delay and stalling with the seller, what is the ruling?
A4: Yes, the 'aqiqah is performed for him because the soul has been breathed into him. Two sheep are sacrificed for a boy and one sheep for a girl. The 'aqiqah is a recommended practice (sunnah) according to the majority of scholars, and there is no obligation on the one who cannot afford it. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
