Q1: What is the best sacrificial animal , and what is better: for a person to slaughter his own sacrificial animal, or to hand over a sum of money to any company, institution, or bank, since I have heard from students of knowledge that handing over money is better in terms of benefit?
A1: The best sacrificial animal is camels, then cows if he offers them whole. As for if he limits himself to a seventh of them, then a sheep is better than that. And it is better for a person to slaughter his sacrificial animal himself, and to eat from it and give charity, as Allah the Exalted said:[Al-Hajj 22:36] . And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
