What is the difference between the arrival tawaf, the tawaf of ifadah, and the farewell tawaf?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : What is the difference, O honorable Shaykh, between the arrival tawaf, the tawaf of ifadah, and the farewell tawaf?

The Shaykh : The difference between them is that the arrival tawaf, if performed by one who is performing qiran or ifrad, is a recommended practice (sunnah) and not obligatory. That is to say, if the pilgrim performing ifrad or qiran leaves it out, there is no blame on him. The evidence for this is that 'Urwah ibn al-Muththarib (may Allah be pleased with him) met the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) on the morning of the Day of 'Id. He prayed Fajr with him at Muzdalifah and informed him that he had not left a single mountain without stopping at it. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said to him:
Whoever attends this Salat of ours, and stays here with us until departing, while he has stood during the night or the day before that at Arafat, then he has completed his Hajj من شهد صلاتنا هذه ووقف معنا حتى ندفع وقد وقف قبل ذلك بعرفة ليلاً أو نهاراً فقد تم حجه
Jami` at-Tirmidhi 891Sahih (Darussalam)
The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) did not mention the arrival tawaf to him, and this indicates that it is not obligatory. However, if the arrival tawaf is performed by one performing 'Umrah, it is a pillar of the 'Umrah, whether the 'Umrah is 'Umrah al-Tamattu' or 'Umrah al-Mufradah. As for the tawaf of ifadah, it is a pillar of Hajj. It is the one that takes place after standing at 'Arafah and standing at Muzdalifah, and Hajj is not complete without it.
As for the farewell tawaf, it is an obligatory act of Hajj, and it is also an obligatory act of 'Umrah. However, it is not part of the essence of Hajj nor part of the essence of 'Umrah. For this reason, it is not obligatory upon one who does not leave Makkah. The difference between the obligatory tawaf and the pillar tawaf is that the pillar tawaf is one without which the ritual is not complete. As for the obligatory tawaf, which is the farewell tawaf, the ritual is complete without it. However, if a person leaves it out, he must pay an expiation by slaughtering a sheep in Makkah and distributing it to the poor. So the difference is as follows: The arrival tawaf is a recommended practice (sunnah), except for the tawaf of the one performing 'Umrah, which is a pillar of the 'Umrah. The tawaf of ifadah is a pillar of Hajj, and Hajj is not complete without it. The farewell tawaf is obligatory, and the ritual is complete without it, but if it is left out, there is an expiation to be slaughtered in Makkah and distributed to the poor. Yes.

The questioner : May Allah bless you. From the questions of listener H.S., this question says the following.
