Can the farewell circumambulation be combined with the circumambulation of departure in a single tawaf?

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The questioner : Can the farewell circumambulation be combined with the circumambulation of departure in a single tawaf?

The Shaykh : It is not permissible to combine the circumambulation of departure with the circumambulation of departure, because the circumambulation of departure is a pillar of Hajj, and Hajj is not valid without it. The farewell circumambulation is obligatory, though it may be waived due to an excuse, such as for a menstruating woman or a woman with post-natal bleeding, where the midwife may be forced to delay her departure for her sake. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) waived the farewell circumambulation for a menstruating woman who had already performed the circumambulation of departure while in a state of purity. Therefore, take this as a rule: "An obligatory act does not suffice for another obligatory act, nor does an obligatory act suffice for another obligatory act." The meaning of "fard" (obligatory) and "wajib" (obligatory) is the same; it is merely a variation in expression. This also has other details, but I do not wish to prolong this for myself or for you. Rather... the circumambulation of departure does not suffice for the farewell circumambulation, because the farewell circumambulation is obligatory.
