Q2: One of my relatives performed the obligatory Hajj last year, and when it came to stoning the pillars, he appointed another pilgrim to stone the pillars for him, but the appointed person did not stone the pillar for him
on the second and third days. What is your opinion on this?
A2 : The principle is that the pilgrim must perform the rites himself, and it is not permissible for him to appoint an agent to stone the pillars unless he is unable to perform the stoning himself. If the person mentioned appointed an agent to stone the pillars while being able to do it himself, he has committed a sin, and the obligation of stoning is not fulfilled by that. If he was unable, then it is permissible for him to appoint an agent, and the agent must fulfill what he committed to in accordance with the Shari'ah. Since he did not fulfill it, he has committed a sin, and the one who appointed him must make up for his omission by sacrificing an animal that is suitable as an 'Id sacrifice, to be slaughtered in Makkah for the poor of the Haram. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
