Throwing the pebbles at the pillars on behalf of a woman in one go

Fatwa number ( 14036 )
Q: We performed Hajj last year, and the mother of the children was with us. On the second day, during the stoning, there was severe crowding. Due to the intensity of the crowd, the wife nearly tripped on the ground as she approached the first pillar. So, one of the companions, who is her older brother, took the pebbles and threw them all at once after she had thrown two of them. And out of fear of the crowd at the remaining pillars, I, her husband, delegated the task and threw the pebbles on her behalf. What is your opinion? Does this suffice, or is there something we must do? Please issue a ruling, may Allah reward you, and may Allah protect you, and peace be upon you.
A : It is obligatory for the woman on whose behalf the pebbles were thrown in one go to offer a sacrificial animal that is sufficient as an 'Id sacrifice, to be slaughtered in Makkah and distributed to the poor; this is to make up for the defect in the ritual. If she is unable to do so, she must fast for ten days. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
