Q2: I performed Hajj with a domestic company, and our accommodation was outside Mina . I slept in that place on the night of the 9th of Dhu al-Hijjah, but during the nights of the days of Tashreeq, I slept inside Mina . Is staying overnight on the night of the 9th obligatory or a recommended practice? If it is obligatory, what should I do? May Allah reward you with good for me, for Islam, and for the Muslims.
A2 : Staying overnight in Mina on the night of the ninth of Dhu al-Hijjah is a recommended practice (sunnah) for the pilgrim and is not obligatory. Therefore, you owe nothing for leaving off the stay that night; you have only missed the reward of the recommended practice of staying overnight. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
