The poor of the Haram to whom the expiations for the prohibitions of ihram are distributed
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q2: I slaughtered a fidyah after receiving a fatwa, and I slaughtered it in the slaughterhouses of Makkah , specifically in al-Musfalah, and distributed it there among the poor. Is it considered distributed among the poor of al-Haram , and does the phrase "poor of al-Haram " mean the poor of Makkah ? When I distributed it, I did not take anything for myself, but I gave some of it to relatives living in Makkah , and I stayed with them, so they prepared food from it for us and I ate with them. Do I owe anything because of eating this meat with them? And is the one who performs a fidyah considered to have an incomplete Hajj after the fidyah, or is it valid and he has no Hajj obligation after that?
A2 : The fidyah that is slaughtered for committing a prohibited act or leaving an obligatory act is distributed
to the poor of the Haram , and by them are meant the poor located within the miles, whether they are in Makkah or outside it, and whether they are residents of Makkah or coming to it. And one upon whom it is obligatory does not eat any of it; because it is a kaffarah. As for the fidyah of tamattu' and qiran, or the fidyah of voluntary acts, there is no harm in eating from it; due to the saying of Allah the Exalted:[Al-Hajj 22:36] . And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
