Question 6: From Fatwa No. ( 18425 )
Q6: I intended to perform 'Umrah and entered the state of ihram from my home in Riyadh , then I boarded the plane. When we were in the air, the pilot said shortly: We will pass by the miqat, and we will inform you of that. Then the pilot said: We are now landing at Jeddah airport. However, I did not intend or declare my state of ihram until the plane landed at the airport, meaning I did not realize it until the plane was landing, and after that I intended the 'Umrah and declared my state of ihram. Is there anything required of me? Since I passed the miqat without declaring my state of ihram there, and I did not intend until after I had passed the miqat . I ask for an answer to the question, and may Allah reward you with the best reward
A6 : If you did not intend to enter the state of ihram until the airport in Jeddah and you are coming from
Riyadh or elsewhere outside the miqats, then you owe a fidyah of slaughtering a sheep in Makkah that is sufficient as an 'Id sacrifice, and you distribute it to the needy. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions
