Fatwa No. ( 16236 )
Q: My father had resolved to perform Hajj in the year 1402 AH, but a dispute arose between me and one of my relatives, and he abandoned Hajj that year. He passed away without having performed Hajj that year, knowing that Hajj is not an obligation in this case and that he had performed it previously. What is required of him? Please inform us.
A : If a person intends to perform Hajj as a voluntary act and then changes his intention before entering the state of ihram,
then he owes nothing. Based on this, your father owes nothing regarding what you mentioned. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
