The third question of Fatwa No. ( 16467 )
Q3: What is the ruling in the Shari'ah regarding a man who has obtained a large amount of money, and from this money he sent his parents to perform Hajj in Makkah , while the man himself has not yet performed Hajj?
A3 : Whoever is able to perform Hajj and has not performed it before, it is obligatory for him to hasten to perform this obligation; because of the saying of Allah the Exalted:[Ali 'Imran 3:97] , if he does not hasten, the Hajj remains a debt upon him, and as for
his performing Hajj for his parents before he performs it himself, there is nothing wrong with it; rather, what is prohibited is for him to perform Hajj with his own body on behalf of another before he performs it for himself; because of the saying of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) to some of the Companions when he heard him responding to the talbiyah on behalf of another person:Mishkat al-Masabih 2529 . And he is the person whom he heard responding to the talbiyah on his behalf. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.

He asked whether he had performed the pilgrimage on his own behalf, and when he replied that he had not, he said, “Perform the pilgrimage on your own behalf, then perform it on behalf of Shubruma."
