Preparing for Ihram at the Miqat and Forgetting the Intention to Enter the Rite

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 18344 )
Q1: I went to perform 'Umrah at the beginning of the blessed month of Ramadan. When I reached the miqat, I performed ghusl and put on the clothes of ihram, then I prayed two rak'ahs and headed toward Makkah al-Mukarramah . On the way, I remembered that I had not uttered the words of intention or the talbiyah (Labbaik Allahumma 'Umrah) at the miqat . I began the talbiyah when I remembered. Is the 'Umrah valid, or is there something missing in this case? We ask for a complete answer, may Allah have mercy on you.
A1 : Ihram is the intention to enter the rite. Uttering the name of the rite at that time and the talbiyah are not obligatory; rather, they are a recommended practice (sunnah). If the matter is as you described, your 'Umrah is valid, if Allah wills.
And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
