The Ruling on a Man Performing Ruqyah for a Woman

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Q134: The questioner, S.H., says in his question: A woman asked me to perform ruqyah for her. What is the ruling on that? I dislike reciting over women. I hope you will guide me in this matter?
A134: There is no doubt that you have been cautious regarding your religion and your honor. It is better and safer for a person’s religion to avoid what involves fitnah (trial, discord or temptation) and what involves evil. However, if a man performs ruqyah for a woman—specifically, the lawful ruqyah—and it is done in the presence of her mahram (a relative one may not marry), without seclusion, and without the reciter touching any part of her, and she is veiled while he recites over her, then it is permissible due to need.
