Q110: The questioner asks: Is it a flaw in sincerity and reliance upon Allah for a man to say to his brother, "I hope you will make du'a' for me during your journey"?
A110: It is not a flaw to ask your brother to make du'a' for you. Allah the Mighty and Majestic said to His Prophet:
and ask forgiveness for your sin and for the believing men and believing womenوَاسْتَغْفِرْ لِذَنْبِكَ وَلِلْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ
[Muhammad 47:19]
, and He the Exalted said:
And [there is a share for] those who came after them, saying, "Our Lord, forgive us and our brothers who preceded us in faithوَالَّذِينَ جَاءُوا مِنْ بَعْدِهِمْ يَقُولُونَ رَبَّنَا اغْفِرْ لَنَا وَلِإِخْوَانِنَا الَّذِينَ سَبَقُونَا بِالْإِيمَانِ
[Al-Hashr 59:10]
