How to Determine the Amount of Zakat al-Fitr That Is Obligatory

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The first question of Fatwa No. ( 18700 )
Q1: We have rice, which is the easiest food to use. We weigh the Prophetic mudd that suffices for one person in kilograms, and then we weigh the bag of rice and measure it accordingly, so we know how many Prophetic mudds the bag contains. We then give Zakat al-Fitr in this manner. What is the ruling on this practice? Is it permissible or not?
A1 : The amount of the Prophetic sa' is approximately three kilograms. It is obligatory to give this amount for each person as Zakat al-Fitr. If you know what is required to be given for one person, you can determine what is required for a number of people. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
