The second question of Fatwa No. ( 14368 )
Q2: What are the most important books that investigate the secrets of the soul and the treatment of unbridled desires, and who are the most important authors in this field?
A2: One of the best of these books is the book by Ibn al-Jawzi (may Allah have mercy on him), for he was a preacher who probed the depths of souls. He wrote a book titled: (The Deception of Iblis), in which he spoke about the ways Satan enters upon a person through desires and doubts, and he excelled in it (may Allah have mercy on him). Also from that is the book: (Relief for the Anxious from the Schemes of Satan) by Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him), for it is a valuable book in its subject.
The Shaykh Abdullah ibn Abd al-Rahman Ababatin abridged it and titled it: (Abridgment of Relief for the Anxious), and there are many other books. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
