The fourth question of Fatwa No. ( 3534 )
Q4: What are the best religious books for one who wants his religion to be sound, and to meet Allah while He is pleased with him? Books have multiplied, and I sometimes feel confused, as the poet said:
A4: You should turn to the Book of Allah (Mighty and Majestic), for in it is guidance and light, and the Sunnah of His Messenger (peace and blessings be upon him), and the books of tafsir and hadith commentary that clarify them. Learn this from the scholars of knowledge, each in his area of specialization, and strive to act upon what you have learned, for whoever acts upon what he has learned, Allah will grant him knowledge of what he did not know. We also advise you to study the two Sahihs, Bulugh al-Maram, and 'Umdat al-Hadith by the Shaykh 'Abd al-Ghani ibn 'Abd al-Wahhab al-Maqdisi, and Muntakha al-Akhbar, and Zad al-Ma'ad by Ibn al-Qayyim, and al-'Aqidah al-Wasitiyyah by the Shaykh of Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, may Allah have mercy on them and all the scholars of the Muslims, and the book of Tawhid, Fath al-Majid, and Kashf al-Shubuhat. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad and his family and his Companions.
