Question: What are the books that Your Eminence recommends reading in the field of creed?
Answer: The best book, the greatest book, and the most truthful book that must be read for teaching creed, rulings, and morals is: the Book of Allah, Mighty and Majestic, to which falsehood does not come from before it or from behind it, a revelation from the Wise, the Praiseworthy.
And Allah said regarding it: : [Al-Isra: 9].
And He also said regarding it: : [Fussilat: 44]. And He said, Exalted is He: [Sad: 29].
And He said regarding it: : [Al-An'am: 155]. And He said regarding it: : [An-Nahl: 89]. And the verses in this meaning are many.
And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said in the authentic hadith in his sermon during the Farewell Pilgrimage:Sahih Muslim 1218a. And he (peace and blessings be upon him) said in his sermon on the Day of Ghadir Khumm when he returned from the Farewell Pilgrimage to Madinah: Sahih Muslim 2408a. So he encouraged the Book of Allah and made it desirable, then he said: Sahih Muslim 2408a. Muslim narrated both in his Sahih; the first is from the hadith of Jabir ibn Abdullah (may Allah be pleased with them both), and the second is from the hadith of Zayd ibn Arqam .
And he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:Sunan Abi Dawud 1452Sahih (Al-Albani). Al-Bukhari narrated it in his Sahih.
And he (peace and blessings be upon him) also said:Sahih Muslim 2699a. Muslim narrated it in his Sahih from the hadith of Abu Hurayrah . And the hadiths in this meaning are many.
Then, the best books after the Noble Qur'an are the books of Prophetic hadith, which are: the books of the Sunnah, such as the two Sahihs, the four Sunans, and other reliable books of hadith. It is necessary that gatherings and circles be filled with the recitation of the Noble Qur'an and its teaching, and with teaching people its jurisprudence, and with studying the books of the Noble Hadith, caring for them, and teaching people their jurisprudence. And those who should undertake this are the people of knowledge and insight, whose knowledge, understanding, advice, and uprightness are trusted.
Among the suitable books for this is reading: [Riyad as-Saliheen], [Al-Ighathah wa al-Rahib], [Al-Wabil as-Sayyib], [Umdat al-Hadith ash-Sharif], [Bulugh al-Maram], [Muntakha al-Akhbar], and other beneficial books of hadith.
As for the books authored on creed, among the best of them is [Kitab at-Tawhid] by the Shaykh and Imam Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-Wahhab (may Allah have mercy on him), and its commentary by his two grandsons, the Shaykh Sulayman ibn 'Abdullah ibn Muhammad, and the Shaykh 'Abd ar-Rahman ibn Hasan ibn Muhammad, which are: [Taysir al-'Aziz al-Hamid] and [Fath al-Majid].
Among them are: [Majmu'at at-Tawhid] by the Shaykh Muhammad ibn 'Abd al-Wahhab (may Allah have mercy on him), [Kitab al-Iman], [Qa'idah Jalilah fi at-Tawassul wa al-Wasilah], [Al-'Aqidah al-Wasitiyyah], [At-Tadmuriyyah], and [Al-Humayriyyah]. These five are by the Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah (may Allah have mercy on him).
Among them are: [Zad al-Ma'ad fi Hady Khayr al-'Ibad], [As-Sawa'iq al-Mursalah 'ala al-Jahmiyyah wa al-Mu'tadilah], [Ijtima' al-Juyush al-Islamiyyah], [Al-Qasidah an-Nuniyyah], and [Ighathat al-Lahfan min Makayid ash-Shaytan]. All these five books are by the scholar Ibn al-Qayyim (may Allah have mercy on him).

Among the most comprehensive of these are [Fatawa Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah] and [Ad-Durar as-Saniyyah fi al-Fatawa an-Najdiyyah], compiled by the scholar Shaykh 'Abd ar-Rahman ibn Qasim (may Allah have mercy on him).

And Allah said regarding it: :
Indeed, this Qur'an guides to that which is most suitable and gives good tidings to the believers who do righteous deeds that they will have a great reward.
And He also said regarding it: :
Say, "It is, for those who believe, a guidance and cure."
[This is] a blessed Book which We have revealed to you, [O Muhammad], that they might reflect upon its verses and that those of understanding would be reminded.
And He said regarding it: :
And this [Qur'an] is a Book We have revealed [which is] blessed, so follow it and fear Allah that you may receive mercy.
And We have sent down to you the Book as clarification for all things and as guidance and mercy and good tidings for the Muslims.
And the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said in the authentic hadith in his sermon during the Farewell Pilgrimage:
I have left among you the Book of Allah, and if you hold fast to it, you would never go astray
I am leaving among you two weighty things: the one being the Book of Allah in which there is right guidance and light, so hold fast to the Book of Allah and adhere to it
The second are the members of my household I remind you (of your duties) to the members of my family
And he (peace and blessings be upon him) said:
The best among you is he who learns and teaches the Qur'an.
And he (peace and blessings be upon him) also said:
and he who treads the path in search of knowledge, Allah would make that path easy, leading to Paradise for him and those persons who assemble in the house among the houses of Allah (mosques) and recite the Book of Allah and they learn and teach the Qur'an (among themselves) there would descend upon them tranquility and mercy would cover them and the angels would surround them and Allah mentions them in the presence of those near Him, and he who is slow-paced in doing good deeds, his (high) lineage does not make him go ahead.
Then, the best books after the Noble Qur'an are the books of Prophetic hadith, which are: the books of the Sunnah, such as the two Sahihs, the four Sunans, and other reliable books of hadith.
