Q: If a person has a clinic and contracts with some companies to treat their employees for a fixed annual amount, and these employees visit the clinic for treatment from time to time without a specified minimum or maximum limit on these visits, is such a contract permissible in the Shari'ah? I ask you to inform me, may Allah guide you and keep your steps steady, for He is the All-Hearing, the Responsive. .
A: This is health insurance; it is a type of commercial insurance, and commercial insurance is forbidden, as a decision has been issued by the Council of Senior Scholars. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
