What is given to a mentally ill person as assistance, which is handed over to his guardian to preserve it
Machine translationRead the Arabic original
The second question of the fatwa ( 21235 )
Q2: I have a neighbor who is mentally ill, and some people give me zakah for him to hand over to him as expenses. However, he does not manage things well; he buys harmful things, such as tobacco, for example, and others. So how can I deal with him? Do I pay him
the zakah, or do I return it to its owners? I ask you to kindly guide me to the path that clears my conscience regarding these zakahs designated for him, and may Allah guide you.
A2: If he does not manage the money well and he is entitled to zakah, the amount is given to his guardian, who spends it on him from it. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
