Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Fatwa number ( 20837 )
Q: Whatis the ruling on banks taking a commission ranging between 1 and 2% for paying the employee's salary?
A: This transaction is not permissible and is one of the transactions involving riba (usury or interest); because it is selling dirhams for dirhams with an increase. Therefore, it is obligatory to abandon this forbidden transaction to clear one's conscience and to keep one's earnings free from what is forbidden. And success is from Allah, and may Allah send prayers and blessings upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and his Companions.
