Building the mosque in the appropriate location so that the general public can pray in it

All praise is due to Allah alone, and peace and blessings be upon the one after whom there is no prophet. Having reviewed the inquiry sent to His Eminence the Grand Mufti from the questioner, the honorable judge of the Darb Court, and referred to the Committee by the General Secretariat of the Council of Senior Scholars with number (3157) and date 14/3/1422 AH, the questioner asked the following: The Darb Court is next to the Darb General Hospital. There is no mosque next to the court; rather, there is a distant mosque that is difficult to reach. There is a small mosque in the hospital, built along with the hospital for the doctors and patients to pray in. The hospital wall (the enclosure) separates it from the court. If we wanted to pray in it, we would have to open a door in this wall for the court’s visitors and employees to pray in. The mosque is small, and the hospital administration might object, as the mosque was placed in a remote area of the hospital, and the large number of people entering from the back might cause disturbance. Also, only the doctors and patients pray in this mosque. There is an open plot of land in front of the court, and we wish to build a mosque there to serve as a mosque where the general public, including the court and hospital staff, can pray. It is
located on the main street.
After studying the inquiry, the Committee responded that the mosque should be built in the appropriate location so that the general public and the court staff can pray in it.
