Ruling on building in the open area of the mosque

Machine translationRead the Arabic original
Question:
What is the ruling on building in the open area of the mosque for residential use? Knowing that this open area is part of the mosque hall and congregational prayer is performed there, if this building is carried out, what is it obligatory for the mosque officials to do?

Answer:
Nothing is to be built on the land of the mosque if the land is attached to the mosque; therefore, nothing is to be built on it. Rather, it remains an extension of the mosque where prayer is performed when the people are numerous, and nothing is to be taken from it. Rather, it remains spacious for the mosque. If something is needed for the imam, the mu'adhdhin, the library, or for establishing needs for the mosque, it is to be outside the mosque. It is to be built outside the mosque if something is found, or land is to be purchased to place that there through the means of people of good. The point is that the open area and the spacious part of the mosque remain spacious for it.
